One of the components that reduces the risk of the explosion effect is the explosion deviator or diverter.
Its characteristic is to divert the flow of air inside a pipe when an explosion occurs in the filter. The deviation is made towards the outside in a free atmosphere and away from the passage of people or things as it is generally installed in the pipes that are not within reach.
Where is it useful to install a diverter?
The installation position is generally in the air intake and purification system after the filtering apparatus in the duct that brings the air into the work environment, and serves to prevent that a possible explosion in the filter does not arrive in the workplace and be diverted outside.
Sometimes it is also installed in ducts carrying processing material, always outside the work environment, and in this case its use is to prevent any explosion or fire from spreading or destroying the deposit or filter of the air.
Its operation is determined by a flame, spark or pressure control unit or completely autonomous upon the arrival of a burst overpressure or other.
